We’re wrapping up another huge season at Elwood City — and we’re going BIG.
On Saturday 12 September, we’re bringing the whole club together for our 2026 Awards Day & End-of-Season Carnival: an afternoon and evening of football, food, carnival games, prizes, music and, most importantly, celebrating the players, coaches, volunteers and families who make Elwood City what it is.
And with nearly 400 kids across the club, there’s plenty to celebrate. ❤️💛💙

Our youngest Elwood stars take centre stage as we celebrate their season, their teams and everything they’ve achieved this year.
And we’ll be feeding them too! 🥧 Party pies and sausage rolls will be FREE for all our MiniRoos players.
Parents, siblings and friends can purchase food and drinks throughout the afternoon, alongside treats from our famous Elwood City Cake Stand.

We’re turning Elwood into a carnival for the afternoon, with games, challenges, competitions and prizes for kids of every age.
And there is one new attraction we suspect might be particularly popular…

The Dunk Tank is here — and some of your favourite Elwood City coaches will be taking their turn in the hot seat.
Hit the target and send them straight into the water.
And yes, with an unlimited activity band, you can keep trying!

UNLIMITED ACTIVITY BANDS — $35
One band gives kids unlimited goes on the carnival activities for the whole afternoon.
Go back to your favourites as many times as you like. Challenge your teammates. Perfect that penalty. Master the mini golf. And, most importantly, take as many shots as necessary to dunk your favourite coach.
Face Painting and Lucky Dip are included once each with every band.
⚠️ ACTIVITY BANDS MUST BE PURCHASED BEFORE CARNIVAL DAY
Unlimited Activity Bands will NOT be available to purchase on the day, so if your child wants unlimited activities, make sure you order their band in advance.
Don’t want an unlimited band? No problem.

After the Carnival, we come back together to celebrate another fantastic year for our girls program and the players helping build the future of girls’ football at Elwood City.
We’ll celebrate their teams, their achievements and another brilliant season in red, yellow and blue.
🏆 5:15–6:30PM — BOYS AWARDS
Then it’s time to recognise our older players and teams and celebrate everything they’ve achieved this season.
Across the afternoon we’ll also recognise our referees and some very special club award recipients — the people whose contribution helps make Elwood City the club it is.
🎸 FROM 6:30PM — DINNER + DANNY LIVE
Once the trophies are handed out, nobody needs to rush home. Grab some dinner and a drink, find your people and settle in as Danny plays live acoustic music and we finish the season together.
Once we move into the evening, sausages and pulled pork rolls will be available for our 12-and-up players.
Parents, siblings and friends won’t miss out either — sausages, pulled pork rolls and drinks will also be available to purchase.
And, of course, our famous Cake Stand will keep going for as long as the cakes do.
Whether Frog in the Pond survives until the evening is another question entirely.
❤️💛💙 THIS DAY IS ABOUT MUCH MORE THAN TROPHIES
It’s about the kids who turned up to training in the rain. The coaches who somehow managed many excited footballers three times a week. The Team Managers who sent approximately 47,000 WhatsApp messages. The referees who stepped onto the pitch every weekend.
The volunteers who opened the canteen, packed equipment, organised teams, found missing jerseys, lined pitches, cooked sausages and did the hundred invisible jobs that keep a community club running.
And it’s about our families — the people who spent another winter driving across Melbourne, standing on sidelines, washing muddy kits and making sure their kids could play the game they love.
Community football doesn’t happen without all of those people.
So Awards Day is our chance to say thank you, celebrate another season together — and have a lot of fun while we’re doing it.
SO CLEAR THE AFTERNOON.
